Brief Description: Fairing Fitting & Tank Trimming
I have the first of the two wings on the bench now as I have quite a few items to complete on them before they are ready for paint. Today I started fitting the lower fairing strip on the right wing, some rivets needed to be replaced with rivnuts & some holes in the bottom skin needed blanking with 4mm rivets. The fuel tank skins require trimming to provide clearance from the main landing gear leg, no template is provided with the kit but fortunately I have the factory built aircraft to copy. Yesterday I made a crude tracing of the factory tank skin cut-out & today started making a mask to trace where the cut-out will be. Tomorrow I'll take that mask & compare it to the factory aircraft & make the required changes before committing to cutting.
