In my last blog I mentioned making my own side windows from locally purchased polycarbonate sheet. That turned out to be too expensive as all suppliers require me to purchase a full 2440mm x 1220mm sheet @ AU$100 and If I would want them to cut it, that would be $45 per cut, shipping would add $150. $150 per window is too much so I have 2 replacement windows shipping from the factory, who knows how long that will take as there are currently no direct flights from South Africa to Australia.
In the mean time I've purchased replacement tyres as the "tundra" tyres won't allow the wheels to be installed inside the landing gear for road transport or fit inside spats. I've mounted the wheels on the original landing gear that was subject to a service bulletin & is therefore not airworthy, this is just for transport to & from the paint shop. I'll tidy up the serviceable gear ready for brake line installation & paint.
