I've been very busy with work over the past few weeks so nothing done on the project until yesterday & today.
When Mike Blyth was here, we were able to identify many parts that do not fit well. Over the last few days I've had lots of contact with Leon, a draughtsman at the factory, regarding my kit's shortfalls and I've done a lot of trial parts fitting. As of yesterday, I have a new rear fuselage top skin on the way & several new parts for the fuselage side top channel assemblies as well as some material for me to produce gussets for the top of the taildragger main undercarriage supports.
I will also need to produce a spacer for the left main undercarriage channel as it is 2mm undersize. There is an issue with the rear 'main gear angle” on both sides. For some reason, these upright angles do not align with the holes in the skin by 2mm so spacers will be required for those too. Numerous holes are not drilled in either the skin or doublers that will need remedying, the bottom edges of the skins require trimming as they are too deep, the list goes on. It will be quite some time before anything in this section is ready for assembly.
