Yesterday Kerry, PGC, KSC & I had the great pleasure of welcoming Mike Blyth, designer of the Sling range of aircraft & co-founder of The Airplane Factory along with Aussie Sling agent Errol van Rensburg to the Highlands. What a treat it was for us to be able to enjoy the company of Mike & Errol over 2 days. Mike has an almost endless supply of interesting stories from his aviation adventures over the years & Errol also has had a very interesting career in aviation. Mike & Errol were able to give me a few pointers on the build process & Mike took on board the few minor issues I have with parts fit & will help me sort them out during my next visit to the factory in a few weeks from now. Over the past few days we have had lots of Sling talk, a few beers & lots of lovely food thanks to KSC, KLH & the Burrawang Pub. Errol & I did a trial fit of the forward fuselage side skins prior to his departure & they look pretty good at this stage with just a few fitment issues noticed.
