Brief Description:  Left & Right Wings

GAM came to the Highlands today (thank you) & we were able to commence installing the tips. Right wing first, we have the top surface drilled & clecoed. A ratchet strap is required to force the tip into the leading edge radius. This right tip has large flanges that prevented it from conforming to the shape of the rib so I trimmed some of the upper flange to allow it to be more flexible. I also needed to provide relief for the wiring loom in the lower flange. The wiring support rod was secured with stainless steel hardware. We were able to complete installing the left wing tip rib, next job is to commence installing the fibreglass tip as per the right wing.
Our loose plan is to have both wings at the stage of having both tips clecoed on the upper surface then we will ensure both tips have the same "dihedral" prior to drilling the lower surface of the tip. This will, as far as possible, prevent the tips from acting as fixed ailerons inducing a roll trim issue.
