GAM donated more of his time today, thank you again. We spent the whole day reinventing the wheel as far as the pitot tube installation goes. I have decided to use the "SafeAir1" system of plumbing which differs a lot from the factory method. We decided to make the pitot mast removable by utilising 3mm rivnuts & 30mm x 3mm bolts to hold the mast to the mounting brackets, aluminium tubes will stop the mast crushing. Access will be via one of the access panels used for installing the fuel tank. A reasonable amount of dexterity will be required to install the mast however we believe that this method reduces the risk of damage to the mast during the building/painting/transporting phases of the build and will result in a reliable installation.
