Brief Description: Fuel Tank Z-Brackets and Baffle Flanges
In this work session, I continued working on the left fuel tank. I focused my efforts on checking over my tank baffle deburring, then when sufficiciently deburred, I fluted the flanges and then fitted the baffle into the fuel tank skin and clecoed it into place for later match drilling.
Next, I went back to working on the fuel tank support Z-Brackets.I first enlarged the holes in the center of the lower flange from 1/8" to a #12 hole to fit the designed AN3 bolts. Then I used some 1" #10-32 bolts and nuts that picked up at a local hardware store and affixed the brackets to the spar . These bolts will hold the Z-Brackets in place when I later match drilll the additional holes in the brackets, using the spar as a guide (as directed in the assembly instructions).
