After fitting the skins to the rudder frame I had one more task to accomplish, which was to cut and shape the R-918 rudder attachment strip from the stoch 0.032" aluminum strip. After forming the piece, I then fit it to the lower rudder rib using clamps. after drilling the holes, I swapped the clamps for clecos to hold the piece in its correct position.
Next I purchased to pieces of aluminum angle stock to act as the rudder brace when the trailing edge wedge of the rudder is prosealed to the skins of the rudder.
