Brief Description: Rudder and Elevator Counter Balance Weights
This log entry documents the work I completed on the rudder. I drilled the Rudder counterbalance (E-614-020) weight with a #12 Drill to allow the AN509 10R-16 bolt to fit through the hole. I then matched and drilled the Rudder Counterbalance rib to the counter balance weight and checked for fitting.
Next I drilled the new Right Elevator counterbalance weight, using the old counterbalance weight as a guide. I then reassmbled the right elevator counterbalance tab and cheked the new weight for the proper fit. The parts did not exactly line up, so I had to adjust the inner hole on the elevator < 1/16" to allow the screw to fit through the new weight and the ribs.
