Brief Description:  Dimpling Table, Vertical Stab, Deburring and Dimpl

After construction began I was realized that would need the use of the DRDT-2 dimpler. So I ordered one. To accomodate its use on the srtucture and the skins I built a modified version of a dimpling table for my DRDT-2 dimpler. My design was intended to be used on top of the work bench.

The design used less material and did not need extensive power tools to complete, it also incorporated adjustable feet to allow for incremental height adjustments to match the height of the table to the face of the dimple die. Following the tables construction, I covered it with carpet so that it would no mar the skin of the material. However I did not stain the table for longer life in the moisture of the garage. Therefore, I may need a different style in the future.

I also began work on the Vertical Stab. I assembled the structure with clecos and began to match drill the spars and rib holes to size #30. I also noticied that the VS-705 Nose Rib was missing from the parts pile. Will look again, then order a new one from Vans. This one is an own goal. I could have sworn I checked this off on the packing list. Lesson learned!!! After drilling all of the holes, I disassembled the structure and began deburring and dimpling the parts to the Vertical Stab.

I also continued sanding and finishing the rear horizontal stab reinforcement bars to get them to the proper finish.
