I got a good bit done today. I consulted with Van's technical support before using LP4-3/4 pulled rivets to attach the leading edge to the wings. They directed me to reference Chapter 5 of the manual where we discussed how the use of Cherrymax rivets would be stronger, but significantly more expensive. Then we discussed how in RV-14, manual p. 17-8, LP rivets are used, and would also be appropriate in my uses also. So I started moun ting the outer leading edges to the main spar using LP4-4 rivets on the inner section where the waffle plate. I only got the longer rivets completed, then stopped because I ran out of time. I spent most of the time mounting the left and right fuel tanks and checking their fit with the outboard leading edges. Everyting fit immaculately, and the fuel tanks only needed a little massaging to get in the right spot.
