Brief Description:  Fuel Tank Z-Brackets

In this work session I spent all of the time trying to fabricate the fuel tank support Z Brackets (T-712 brackets) with not much luck. I tried to decpher the Vans instructions without much avail, and instead decided to folow the "Checkoway Method" described in a few blogs. In this method, the hole is drilled as close to the inside of the Z racket, and the hole in the top flange of the bracket is drilled later in the process. The one remnant of the Van's method, was that I'd rilled offset (Checkoway) 1/8" holes in the lower flanges. This worked until I inavertantly drilled the same holes in the inner bracket, which was unideal. Those holes need to be drilled in the center of the flange, to allow a socket to be fitted over the bolt. So some of my work was lost in that I needed to reorder 2 (which I doubled to four) Z brackets, to replace the ones that were miss drilled.
