Brief Description:  Counter Sink #6 screw on spar flange

Today I countersunk the 24 #6 screw dimples on the lower left and right spar flanges. As part of my checking the screw countersink depth I was screwing in a cut off #6 screw head with a few threads still attached on it. This method worked great in that it found two errors in component manufacture, as two of the K1000-06 platenuts had no threads cut ionto them. After talking it over with Van's, the most prudent step would be to remove them (yes, drilling out the rivets) and reinstalling two K1000-06 platenuts from somewhere else in the wing kit. I was able to use the one extra in the parts bag, then soucred the second platenut (nutplate) from the landing light (then taped a note to the bag). It wasn't a big deal, but it did give me a good bit of worry while I was fixing the problem.
