Brief Description:  Wing Tie Down Brackets

After trimming, deburring and smoothing the Rear Spar Reinforcement Plates, I moved on to mark and trim the wing tie down spacers that will go underneath the tie down brackets. I decided to use all of the provided aluminum and marked up 5 (instead of the required four) spacers. I drew up the spacers 1/4" apart so that when I cut them apart with my hack saw, I could then smooth out the edges with my bench sander and and band sander. After that, placed the spacer in my bench vice and sanded down the edges emory cloth and 40 grit wet dry sand paper.

Acter cutting and sanded the edges, I then used a 1" hole cutter in my drill press to cut the hole in the center of the spacer. After drilling the center hole I then deburred and the hole edges with a deburring tool, then smoothed out the inside of the hole with with a scotchbrite wheel in a die grinder and sand paper.
