Brief Description:  Rudder Trailing Edge Proseal

Today was my first attempt at using proseal. first off, the 3.5 oz squeeze bottles are amazing. they come with their own fine application nozzle! I was loving it!! Needless to say, my work with the proseal was considered a mild success. But it, like everything else, came with a few bruises. First, I had ordered a tube of proseal earlier this summer, and unfortuneately let it expire on the shelf while falling behind this summers aggressive build schedule. Never letting a disater go to waste, I simply ordered another and used the first as practice. I'm glad I did.

Lessons learned:
1) Use proseal in a well ventilated area!
2) Follow the instructed, when in doubt, Youtube it!
3) When using the 3.5oz applicatiction tube, do not twist the mixer counter clockwise until you are ready to appply the material. It will detach from the mixing head.
4) Slowly squeeze out the activator in the middle of the tube, not at the top/bottom. Its much easier to mix that way.

My first attempt at the proseal applicator was not successful. I twisted the mixing arm the wrong way and lost the mixing head. So I spent a few minutes reviewning my mistake, and worked to move on. With the second tube, I twisted the tube in the correct clockwise direction, and also worked the material in the tube 150+ times even though the instructions said only 50 times. By the time I started its consistency was an even black color throughout.

I first tried to apply the proseal with the rudder vertical. While it was a good idea, it wasn't to condusive to getting the job done. Then I laid the rudder on its side, and the process took off. If you are ever wondering, its better to do it this way:

1) Lay the rudder on its side
2) Lay a nice bead of proseal on the lower side skin. Don't freak out when the skins touch and the proseal gets spread between the two skins. Who cares?
3) Once the lower side is prosealed, install the rudder wedge.
4) Apply proseal to the top of the newly installed rudder wedge to proseal the upper side sk
