Brief Description:  Right Horizontal Stabilizer

Began riveting the left horizontal stabilizer by riveting the nose rib into the left horizontal stabilizer. I began the process correctly this time by starting with the nose rib. Hoewever I didn't install and cleko the VS-708 into place to stabilize the skin while trying to completely rivet in the nose rib.

Upon inspecting my work on the left horiztonal stabilizer, I was disappointed with a few of the rivets in the nose rib. So I contacted Van's Builder Assistance and was informed that I could safely replace some of the AN426AD3-3.5 rivets with MK-319-BS pulled rivets. I elected to install the pulled rivets after multiple attempts to install AN426 rivets, and out of caution of wearing out the drilled holes and needing a larger rivet. I elected to swap three rivets in the left nose rib. the aft rivet on the lower side and the two forward nose rivets on the upper side. The two upper side rivets were installed after noting that the skin was loose between the rivets and being unable to get the skin to sit flush after riveting. After the installation of the pulled rivets, the skin sat flush and secure to the underlying rib.
