Today I accomplished light work in the shop. I trimmed the Left and Right side rudder skin stiffeners. To accomplish this I first marked the cut line with a sharpie to match eachstiffener to the appropriate length. the I made a rough cut with aluminium shears. Then sanded down to the marking line with the 1' belt sander. Finally I smoothed out the edges with the scotchbrite wheel to finish out the shaping of the stiffeners.
Next I prepped the Rudder skins for match drilling with the stiffeners. To accompany the drilling necessary, I created a false tabletop with a piece of 2' x 4' x 11/32" plywood, that will allow me to drill through the aluminumand not damage the table top.
