To avoid potential rattling of the glare shield inlay I got padding material from Aircraft Spruce. I wanted to assure it met the fireproofing (or rather non-toxic burning) aviation specs. The thinnest I could find was 1/8 inch thick. I used the glare shield template for rough cutting and tested in place.
I experimented with the gluing process on test pieces.
