Brief Description: Position extruded angle for drilling
1. Lightly clamp the spar and extruded angle to the support jigs with C-clamps.
2. Using a piece of 0.025 aluminum as a gage and a piece of 0.016 as a straight edge, adjust the extrusion so that the top surface is 0.025" above the spar caps. I had to use the 0.025 as a gage because I do not receive any 0.020 scrap with my 601XL kit, Using a 0.020 feeler gage was inconvenient, and I decided I'd rather us 0.025 than 0.016.
3. With the extrusion correctly placed at the two jigs, I then measured and clamped at the ends and between the jigs.
4. I used a 3/16" transfer punch to punch each hole to be drilled in the extrusion.
