Brief Description:  Level wing skeleton and position top rear skin

1. Leveled the steel beam under the main spar by
- determining required shim thickness with a feeler gage
- cutting appropriate shims for each end from a 2x4 with a chop saw
- See Fig. 1.

2. Next I had to shim the beam under the rear spar so that the main spar was 9° from vertical and the rear spar was level.

3. I used the HF Angle Finder (as noted in 2/20/08 log entry) to measure the spar angle. Tomorrow I'll cut the specified plywood templates to verify the angles.

4. In addition to a 2x4 under the out board end of the rear spar beam, I cut 2 shims from 2x4's to put under the beam in the middle and at the inboard end. Double check main and rear spar for level and main spar for 9° inclination. See Fig. 3.

5. Drew lines to extend the prepunched rib-rivet lines on the top skin to the forward and aft edges of the skin.

6. Drew lines to extend the rivet lines on the main spar onto top of the main spar

7. Measured the rivet line positions onto the top of the rear spar and drew corresponding lines.

8. Placed the skin on top of the wing; aligned the skin rivet lines with the lines on the rear spar

9. Clamped the skin to the rear spar. See Fig. 3.

10. Adjust the position of the front spar
