Brief Description: Attach elevator horns to elevator
|

1. Angle 6T3-7 drilled and clecoed to elevator spar.
2. Upper elevator horn, 6T3-4, drilled to skin, hinge; rearmost hole not drilled.
3. Cut angles on flanges of doubler, 6T3-6, with chop saw.
4. Lower elevator horn, 6T3-4, drilled and clecoed to elevator and hinge. Lower horn position was set using the 10-mm strip and 0.040 shim, per PAM.
5. Predrilled the doubler #40. Then drilled and clecoed to the upper and lower horns.
6. Cut, drilled and clecoed the L-angle reinforcements.
7. Ground the top corners of the lower and upper horns to make sure they would not interfere with the bend radius of the bent strip, 6T3-8.
8. opened up the top of the elevator and drilled #20 the rivet holes between the doubler and the angle, 6T3-4. The doubler was clecoed to the lower and upper horns,The upper horn was clecoed to the bent lip of the skin and clamped to the elevataor center channel.
9. Filed a small notch in the elevator skin just aft of the upper elevator horn so that the bent strip, 6T3-8 would not be held off from the
