Brief Description: Drill & cleco hinge to elevator
|
|
1. Supported stab and elevator on 2x4's.
2. Clecoed hinge to stab.
3. Marked the centerline on the elevator.
4. Inserted the hinge into the elevator, so that the top edge of the elevator skin was just short of the openings in the hinge, and adjusted for centerline.
5. Taped one end of the elevator into position, fine tuned the other end, drilled #40, and clecoed.
6. Double checked taped end, then drilled & clecoed every 2nd hole across the hinge.
7. Verified that the elevator had freedom of movement.
8. Drilled the alternate holes, #40 through the hinge, rechecked for movement.
9. Drilled the alternate holes #30, and clecoed.
10. Removed the #40 clecos, and drilled those holes #30.
11. Drilled the holes between the center ribs #20 for the A5 rivets, and clecoed.
