Brief Description:  Fuel system & bottom rear skin

1. Rivet the L-angle reinforcements to the pump channel.

2. Attach the pump to the channel with 1/4"x28 bolts into the nutplates.

3. Cleco the pump mount between ribs 2 & 3.

4. Attach the gascolator to the gascolator channel.

5. Clamp the gascolator channel in place between ribs 2 & 3 to check clearances, etc.

6. I cannot run the aluminum fuel lines because I do not yet have a tube flare tool.

7. Re-level the wing on the table on top of the rails.

8. Position the bottom rear skin on the skeleton and align the rivet lines with the extended rib centerlines as marked on the spar.

9. It was apparent that the prepunched spar rivet lines on the skin were further apart than the spars. The prepunched lines are 8-mm from the edges of the skin. I talked to Caleb, ZAC, Re this problem. He said to move the skin rearward so that the holes through the main spar would not be on the bend radius. He pointed out to me that that the minimum edge distance for the flange side is that the hole not be in the bend. The problem is much more severe at the outboard end.

10. I can extend the skin 3-mm beyond the rear spar w/o violating the edge clearance standard. If I do that, I just barely clear the main spar bent radius. This makes me wish that they hadn't prepunched the spar rivet lines. I can think of 3 ways to handle this:

- Use the 3-mm extension, drill & cleco, then file off all or most of the skin where it extends over the rear spar.

- Make up set of wooden "pushers" that would push the ribs far enough apart so that the rivet lines on the skin were matched to the rivet lines on the spars. Then drill & ceco. Remove pushers, and hopefully it would still line up.

- Drill out the rivet on the rear spar and insert spacer strips to move the spar further out. The grip length of the rivets could become an issue with this approach.

- Align the skin so that the front spar is optimal. Then drill through the existing pilot holes on the rear spar 3/32". Then drill a new set of holes midway between t
