2 Hold the check plates of the a-frame in place at the engine mount then rotate the apex of the a frame up into the tunnel. Mark the centre line of the point of contact.
3 Cut a small hole in the tunnel and the doghouse then enlarge the hole until the a frame can be inserted. Cut the minimum size hole required. Remove firwallblanket as required.
4 In cored areas de-core 1/4 bck from the edge of the hole. Pack the de-cored eara with a ix of resin and flox mixed to the consistency of thick oatmeal. Allow the resin to fully cure.
5 Reinforce the sides off the housing. this step was carried out at buld from Lancair.
6 Place the bearing blocks onto the nose lnding ger strut.
7 Insert the check plates of the a frame between the bearing blocks and the engine mount.
8 Align the bearing blocks with the imprinted arrow pointing forward.
9 Slide the nose landing gear with the bearing blocks into the engine mount.
10 Align the bearing blocks to the reference hole.
11 Attach the actuator to the nose gear . Ensure the actuator sturt is fully extended.
12Hold the a frame and the actuator in position inside the actuator housing. Adjust the position of the a frame as required by positioning of the bearing blocks and the nose gear.
13 Use a smart level adjust the nose landing gear so that it is at 90 deg side to side.
14 Check the side to side play of the nose gear by grasping it and moving side to side. If the nose gear moves fabricate and add aluminum shims between the bearing blocks and the engine mount on either side to centre and keep it in place.
15 Adjust the fore and aft position of the bearing blocks so that te hinge axis will beparrallel to the firewall.
16 Set the rake of the nose gear to 1.5 deg + - 0.5 deg forward.
17 Swing the gear into the tunnel to check that the gear is centred.
18 Hold everthng i place by using clamps.
19 Clamp the a frane and bearing blocks tothe engine mount.
