Brief Description:  YAW SERVO

THE YAW SERVO MOUNTS INSIDE THE AIRCRAFT FORWARD OF THE REAR TAIL SPAR.

1 Set the elevator to neutral using the prodcedure in chpter 3.

2 Adjust the rudder to the neutral position by moving it left and right uti it is centred about the vertical tail.

3 Clamp the rudder in the neutral position.

4 Remove the rudder control access pnel.

5 Install the puuley and keeper onto the yaw servo bracket.

6 Match drill the stop to the keeper and the servo bracket then attach using rivets

7 combine the GSA 80 servo actuator, GSM86 servo gearbox and the clutch cartridge kit into an assembly.

8 Mount the yaw servo onto the servo bracket.

9Wrap the servo cable around the servo capstan with the cable certering bll in its pocket and equal lengths of cable either side. The cable should be wound in accordance with the latest revision of the garmin installation manual.

10 Lightly clamp the servo cables them positon the yaw servo against the face of the vertical spar. The yaw servo must be positioned so that the servo cable is in line withthe rudder cable as they come off the rudder pulleys.

11 Match drillthe servo bracket to the vertical bulkhead.

12 Unclampand remove the servo assembly and bracket fro the aircraft.

13 Using a marker drw a line diagonally betweenthe match drill holes. Make a hole centred at the intersection usings a 3 1/4 hole saw.This access hole allows the nutplates to be installed on the lower vertical bulkhead.

14 Using hysol, bond the nutplates for the match drilled holes onto the lower vertical bulkhead. allow hysolto fully cure.

15 decore the perimeter of the access hole for approx 1/4 beyond the hole then pack with flox. allow to fully cure.

16 bolt the yaw bracket to the vertical spar.

17 Clamp the servo cable to the rudder cable ensuring the servo cable is taut and the clamps do not slip.

18 remove the clamps from the rudder and elevator them move the rudder by hand to verify operation of the yaw servo.

19 replace the rudder access panel
