Brief Description:  INSTALLING THE DOOR LATCH ANCHORS

1Install the door to the fusalage.

2 Make a square or rectangular notch in the fusalae where each of the door latches make contact . Keep the size of the notch the minimum required. It is recommended to round the interior corners of the notches th prevent cracking.

3Locate the anchor hard points.

4 Set the adjustment plate (212-0098) set screw in to provide maximum adjusability.

5 Temporarily place a shim on both sides of the latch arm to hold it centred in the latch body.

6 Align the latch anchor assembly with the latch on the door.

7 Adjust the height of the latch anchor using a g-10 pad (212-0099or 212-0100) and shims ( 118-0009, 118-0011 or 118-00010). The height of the latch is correct when the ball on the latch arm is fully seated in the anchor when the latch mechanism is over -centred.

8 Matchdrill th latch anchoor to the g-10 pad

9 Choose screws of suitable lengh.

10 After the pads have cured. prepare the surface of the pads and the surrounding areas.

11 Create micro fillets around the pads.

12 Apply a 4-bid layup around ech pad and onto the door flange.

13 After each layup has cured. cut out the clearances to re-open them for the latches.

14 Reinstall th adjustment plates and anchors. Adjust the height using shims.

15 Adjust all the latchadchors and test by latching the door. Make sure the latch arm is engaged in th latch anchor with the arm in the over centre( latched ) position. Readjust as required util latching is smooth and positive. Torque the nuts 20 to 25 in-lbs
