Brief Description:  DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLY ( EVAP BOX)

The vaporator is mounted on the cockpit side of the firewall, behind the instrument panel.

1 Pre - asemble the evaportor housing using the distibution box ( 284-029) , the air distribution duct ( 282-0228) , and the fan flange ( 282-0257)

2 Temporarily position the centre baffle acturato onto the evaporator housing and hold it in place with tape.

3 Hold the housing in place aginst the firewall, centred between the engine mount flanges and apporx 1/8 to 1/4 above the tunnel.

4 Mark the position on the fusalage usinf a marker.

5 Make two carbon fiber brakets to hold the housing in place as follows.
(a) take two blocks of wood and shape to match the contour of the fusalage where the brakets will be bonded.
(b) wrap the blcoks in clear plastic.
(c) using the blocks make two 8 bid brakets 2"x4"x1"
(d) allow the brakets to cure

6 Wrap the brakets in clear tape and use them to make releases on the evaporator housing. The releases provide clearance so the evaportor box may be removed after the brakets have been permanently bonded to the fusalage.Make the release using resin mixed with flox. Add flox untilthe mix is the consistency of thick oatmeal.

7 Match drill the brakets to the releasees and install K1000-3 nutplates using AN426AD-4 rivets.

8 Bolt the brakets to the housing using bolts AN3-4 and AN960-10L washers.

9 Hols the housing in place and bond the brakets in place using flox or hysol.

10 Allowthe flox or hysol to fully cure.

11 From the front face of the firewall mark the cabin air mixing valve penetration onto the evaporator housing using a marker.

12 Remove the evaportor housing from the fusalage.

13 Cut out the hole you mark in the evaporator housing.

14 Finish the braket installation by applying a2 bid layup overlay

15 REF to fig 16.2.g.2 evap box assembly. Match drill the two halfs of the evaportor in four places then install nutplates so the halfs can be screwed together.

16 Set the three actuators (RD-5-11862) to their normally closed position as follo
