USE FLUID TYPE: PETROLEUM BASED

SHELL FLUID 4.ODE 60421 ( NEW NUMBER)

TOTAL RESERVOIR CAPACITY : 120 OUNCES ( 3 3/4 US QUARTS)

RESERVIOR SERVICE LEVAL : 96 OUNCES ( 3 US QUARTS)

BEFORE ADDING FLUID TO THE HYD SYSTEM , CHARGE THE ACCUMULATOR BY ADDING 1000 TO 1100 PSI OF DRY NITROGEN GAS. THE ACCUMULATOR IS CHARGED THROUGH THE SHREADER VALVE IN ITS AFT END.

NOTE
WITH THE ELEC SYSTEM "ON" PLACE THE GEAR SWITCH IN THE DOWN POSITION, PULL THE HYD CIRCUIT BREAKER AND OPEN THE EMERGENCY BY-PASS VALVE.VERIFY THERE IS 0 PSI PRESSURE ON THEPRESSURE GAUGE ON TH AFT MANIFOLD.

1 FLUSH ALLTHE TUBES IN THE SYSTEM. REF 11.2.P SYSTEM FLUSHING.

2 AFTER FLUSHING DISPOSE OFF OLD FLIUD AND FILL RESERVIOR WITH 96 OUNCES ( 3 US QUARTS)

3 CHECK ALL LINES FOR LEAKS.

4 DISCONNECT THE LINKAGES BETWEEN THE LANDING GEAR AND THE DOORS.

5 CYCLEEACH GEAR BY HAND TO MAKE SURE THERE IS FREE AND CLEAR MOVMENT.

6 PLACE THE GEAR SWITCH IN THE DOWN POSITION.

7 ENSURE THE EMERGENCY BY-PASS VALVE IS CLOSED

8 APPLY POWER ( 24 V DC)

9 THE PUMP WILL CREAT A GOODDEL OFF NOSIE AS THERE IS NO FLUID IN THE LINES AT THIS TIME

NOTE
THE PUMP MUST NOT BE ALLOW TO RUN UNDER PRESSURE FOR MORE THAT 1 MINUTE , AS THIS WILL GENERATE TO MUCH HEAT AND COULD DAMAGE THE PUMP.

10 IF THE PUMP STOPS WITHIN 1 MINUTE , REMOVE POWER.

11 CHECK ALL FITTINGS FOR LEAKS.

12 CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN THE RESERVIOR AND FILL TO 1- 1/2 INCH BELOW THE TOP OFF THE FILL PORT.

13 CONTINUE OPERATION UNTIL FLUID LEVEL IN THE RESERVIOR DOES NOT CHANGE.

NOTE
THE GEAR SYSTEM SELF BLEEDS, REQUIRING SEVERAL CYCLES OF THE SYSTEM, WHICH IS TIME COMSUMING. WHEN THE GEAR FULLY RETRACTS AND AIR IS IN THE LINES, YOU MAY ENCOUNTER SMALL BURPS OF THE PUMP MOTOR.

14 CHECK THE NOSE GEAR IS STRAIGHT.

15 MOVE THE GER SWITCH TO THE UPPOSITION AND OBERSERVE THE GEAR AS IT STARTS TO RETRACT. ASSUMING THAT ALL THE GER GO UP ON THE FIRST TRY, THE PUMP SHOULD ONLY RUN FOR 3 TO 4 SECONDS UNTIL THE GER RETRACTS, THEN 3 TO
