Brief Description: Rivet ribs to right elevator skin
Rivet the counterbalance assembly / ribs and the root rib to the elevator skin. Starting with the skin/CBskin / rib / spar rivet top and bottom. Squeezer will fit if all other clecos are removed and assembly swiveled back to allow squeezer access. Took most of an hour to get the rivets set - squeezer yoke almost too wide. Re set the 4-4 rivets to make a little more room. Had to set the next four (inside cb skin to skin) rivets. One hole in the CB was not dimpled so I had to use the close quarters (pop rivet) dimpler. Finally placed the elevator vertical on the leading edge so I reach both sides. Much easer access but it was blind bucking. Had to remove second rivet (realized on other side that maybe the dimple was not set on the CB skin??) Drilled out first two 3-4 (skin/CB/rib) rivets - used 3-3.5 and they did not set. Finished the bottom rivets. Clecoed the top ready to start tomorrow.
