Brief Description:  Noswheel Steering Firewall Hole

High stress operation today -- I cut the firewall hole for the nosewheel steering rod. At first I did not see how this lined up, even with the motor mount in place. It turns out you have to use the opposite side of the rudder pedal bushing shown in the plans picture, then it works out perfectly.

I cut the hole by drilling six 1/4" holes, one at each apex and two more at the shoulders of each side of the curves. I then tried to use my hand nibbler, but that was not precise enough, so I switched to the Dremel tool with a metal cutting disk. It cut well and very precisely.

After the hole was roughed out, I used the Dremel again with a coarse sanding drum (went through about six drums total) to shape the hole exactly as I wanted it. In the end it came out *very* well!
