Dave Schieman came up with a rig to bend the rudder control horn using my arbor press and a combination of stainless steel rods and cradles to hold everything straight and immobile (pic 1).
We bent both my rudder horn and his, after testing the rig on a couple of blanks Dave made from 1/8" plate from Aircraft Spuce cut to the shape of the factory horn. Both horns came out great, though we slightly over-bent both and had to take some bend out in the bench vise.
I'm thrilled that after ruining two horns previously I have a good one I can use to complete my rudder. I'm probably going to do that last though, and knock out the vertical and horizontal stabilizers first.
