Brief Description:  Started on wingtips

I started fitting the wing tips to the wings today. I plan on using the hinge method as some other builders have. Several websites have detailed instructions and pictures that made the process easier. First I have pre ordered the dash 4 and dash 3 hinges from Vans. The -4 wider hinge will be riveted to the wing portion for overlap. Any daylight between the tip and wing will hide the hinge portion. After the initial fit and using Gorilla tape to hold it in place I match drilled the tips to the wings using the existing holes. Next I clecoed the hinge inside the tip and drilled the other side. (see pic 2). Next was to remove the fiberglass lip that the first row of hinge was drilled to as it will be used as a spacer. (see pic 3). I then did a trial fit to the wing. A hint here! Take the hinge pin and smear it down with Boelube and chuck it in a drill for the trial fit. Move the pin in and out as you feed it into place. Works great!
