Brief Description: Rolled leading edge, molex connector issue
Had a few issues today. I started working with the mini molex connectors late last night and was able to crimp them just fine but then they wouldn't insert correctly into the 6-pin plastic molex connector piece (ES-00044). They are only supposed to go in one way and I can see the tabs in the plastic piece but when I line everything up and push the metal pins in, they won't engage. I'm hoping it's a defective piece so I'm ordering new pins and connectors (ES-00047 & ES-00044).
I also continued rolling the leading edge of the elevators. After the bend, I didn't make the two mating surfaces flat enough on one of the sections so when I went to use the pop rivets, there was a gap. I ended up drilling out about 7 rivets and redoing them. It went better the next time. I finished the left elevator now on to the right. I tried a slightly larger diameter pipe for this one to see if it would illiminate so much hand bending. I tried it by myself but I think I may have bent the tabs a little to close to the flange as there is a slight crease on one side. I will retry tomorrow.
All 5 connectors attached
Left side rolled and clecoed
Mini molex close up...won't insert correctly though
