Brief Description: Prepped inboard and outboard tip ribs
I made a jig today to speed up the process of creating a 90 degree bend in all of the flanges. I saw this on the Aerotoons blog and it worked well. I used a 2x2 hinged to a 2x4 which is clamped to the bench. The 2x4 has a 10 degree mitre cut which allows the flange to bend beyond 90 degrees but then springs back to 90 degrees. The 2x2 has a taper at the bottom and has a smoothed edge to prevent any creases. It certainly made the process quicker and repeatable. I squared up all of the tip ribs using fluting pliers, a seamer and the jig. Once it was all square, I attached the tip ribs together with counterbalance skins. Match drilling will be the next step.
