Brief Description: Riveted aft bottom skin and right side skin
Long day riveting but a good one. Mike came over to help as this part requires buck riveting and while I could reach both sides, the results are much better with 2 people. We started by attaching the F1412 bulkhead to the F1479 aft bottom skin. The aft bottom skin is thicker than the rest of the plane and is not in the perfect shape to fit the F1412 bulkhead and bottom skins so it had to be worked a bit. It is tricky getting the layers correct as you install these 2 pieces with the F1478 bottom skin, F1473 side skins and all the longerons. It's fairly straight forward but here's a down and dirty on how it goes... 1. the forward edge of F1479 bottom skin goes between F1478 bottom skin and F1410 bulkhead 2. the side edges of F1479 bottom skin goes between F1473 side skin and F1486B longerons 3. the top of the F1412 aft bulked goes inside the F1418B longerons and the F1473 side skin goes flush against the F1418B longerons.
We finished most of the right side and aft section. We upsized the rivets along the F1418B longeron to AD3-4s vs AD3-3.5s. Also some locations where there were 3 layers of skins required upsizing by .5, usually at the top of bottom of the side skins where they attached to 2 bottom skins and the bulkheads.
