Brief Description: Prepped skins for foam ribs, assembled tip ribs
I forgot to tape off the trailing edge and spots for the foam ribs on the skins so I had to remove some primer, then taped and scuffed those areas with 150 grit aluminum oxide sandpaper. I then started building the elevators back up. First was to rivet together the two tip ribs on the web with AD4 rivets. This was tricky getting the yoke with dies over both flanges. I removed the yoke from the squeezer, slid it over the flanges then reattached it to the squeezer. This requires using a small diameter flat set that will slide through the yoke. I also did the hinge reinforcement plate and nutplates. The numbers are very close on some of the nut plates and I initially grabbed the K1000-06. That one is way too small. Then I looked closer at the manual and it called for the K1000-6, quite a bit bigger and the right one for this job.
