Brief Description:  Trim tab work. Primed all parts

A lot of work done today on the trim tab. I attached the nut plates to the reinforcement doubler. I used reduced diameter dies to dimple the nutplates. There isn't much surface area on the nut plates to dimple so the dimples didn't fit perfectly over the dimples in the doubler but once riveted in place they turned out okay. I then assembled the trim tab with clecoes so as to mark the trailing edge then cut it to size the same way as the previous TEs were done. Then its countersunk on both sides to accept the skins. I again used the drill press with the modified countersink bit and jig from Cleaveland. The close out tabs have to be dimpled too then they are final drilled to #33. This to accept MK-319-BS blind rivets. I fabricated the pushrod and horns per the plans. I used the bandsaw and 3M cut and polish wheel to fabricate them. I think my push rods were backwards from the plans because when I put them together the ends with the two bends were opposite what they should have been. They have to be countersunk on one side to accept double flush rivets so cleco them together before riveting just to make sure they are correct. I aligned them correctly and marked the outsides for countersinking. The trim tab horns had to be cut as well. I used sheet metal pliers and the 3M wheel for this then dimpled them. Next I measured and taped the trim tab where the foam ribs and TE will be applied. The plans say to scuff with 150 grit aluminum oxide sandpaper which I did. I cleaned the surfaces and taped over the scuffed parts so I could prime them. At this point I primed all the pieces associated with the elevator using 2 coats of gray SEM self etching primer.
