Brief Description: Fitted gusset's and tip rib assy
Today started with final drilling the gussett's to the rib and spar. The holes were 3/32 but needed to be drilled to 1/8 (#30) which was confusing but I consulted another builder to verify. I needed to use a long #30 bit to drill the right elevater because the skin got in the way of the drill. Then I assembled the tip rib assembly to the front and rear spar. The plans aren't clear on how the spar connects to the tip rib assembly. I consulted another builder and looked forward in the plans and determined that the flanges of E-904 go inside the flanges of the front spar, E-902, and the counterbalance skin, E-913, goes on the outside of the front spar flange. Basically, the E-902 flanges are sandwiched between the flange of E-904 and E-913. Once this was all clecoed together I final drilled the #30 holes in the web of the tip rib assembly where they connected to the front spar and shear clips. Fabricating the trailing edge was next.
