Brief Description: Sourcing the Avionics

Spend the last few weekends on sourcing and researching the right avionics for my plane. Because of the Australian Dollar exchange there will be some significant savings if I buy before it will head down the predicted way. Finally I decided on the MGL Glass Panel as the new iEFIS 10.4” will be released in August. The new range is already on the marked for 1 year and has been proven to work. The layout will be with two panels one 10.4” and a 8” as backup and for additional displays and with “vertical power” as the power distribution which works great with the MGL. Also I will get a Garrecht Transponder, the MGL radio and the Autopilot servos. The only problem this created was, it was not fitting into my cockpit panel without modification. One of them is, the removal of the throttle flap on the bottom centre section of the cockpit frame. The second will be to use a throttle quadrant instead of the conventional throttle setup which gives me more space on the cockpit panel for switches, panels etc.
