To make the firewall different from others I decided to polish it with a "Engine Turned" pattern. For doing that I had first to build a rig. I used the head from my simple ALDI drill press and machined a short food which went onto a low bridge. Some timber in the workshop just fit to build the bridge strong enough to carry the drill press head. Second was the development of the polishing bits, a few trails with different method's first was the timber block with Velcro and the Velcro sandpaper which didn't worked for long. Second was the version where the sand paper was glued direct onto the timber, did not work as well either because the sanding surface was not even. Finally the third version was perfect. Some 1mm cork which I had for fiberglass sandwich was the perfect soft cushion for the sandpaper and the surface to give an even polish.
