Brief Description:  Finished Major Portion of Shed

It has been over a month since I made an entry and a few people have emailed giving me a hard time about it. Thanks for the attention and giving me a kick in the butt, but I have been busy. Justine made it to the Illinois High School AA Track meet, the boys have baseball about four nights per week as well as Saturdays, holiday weekend camping trip and I have been traveling some for work.

I have been making some slow, but steady progress on the shed and actually finished it more or less. Diane asked me last night, is it finished or just "Gary Finished"? I have a reputation with her of getting something about 95% done and then moving on to another project. I blame her for always having another project in the backlog before I get done with the last one.

The overhead garage door went up last Sunday and took several hours with a few interruptions in between. It was a little cumbersome by myself, but actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Not having an opener made it simpler.

This weekend I was able to finish caulking all the seams inside and put up the flashing around the top on the outside. I went through about nine tubes of caulk and the thing should be pretty water tight. There will be a few leaks I am sure and when it rains I'll touch up the seams after the leaks show themselves.

I was up late last night after everyone went to bed and moved everything in from the garage that would fit. The shed is now almost filled up and everything I wanted to put in fit, except for my table saw. I read on Vansairforce.net where another RV builder built a top for his table saw and used it as a small work table for the airplane and just removed the wood top when he needed to use the saw. Mine has a nice set of casters that makes it portable and it might be a pretty handy work surface. If it was stored in the shed, I would have to move the lawn mower to get at it. I will think more on this during the week.
