The boys and I met up with Jim and Jack at Oshkosh again this year, our third annual trip. Jim and Jack drove over in their motorhome from the twin cities area on Thursday and found a nice spot. The boys and I left Thursday night after Colten's football practice and pulled in to Camp Scholler just after midnite.
Friday was spent doing the usual walk around tour after a visit to Kidventure. Jim had his bike stolen from the bike coral which was a real bummer. He and Jack rode double or took turns the rest of the weekend.
On Saturday the three boys and I participated in the "Runway 5K". Jack stole the show and finished in something like 21 minutes, pretty awesome for a ten year old kid. Later that night we were watching the news in the motorhome and Jack was shown on TV finishing up front with a bunch of the leaders. It was cool. Colten, Tanner and I were running a more relaxed pace (OK, I am forty, fat, and slow). We had fun and Colten and Tanner did great running there first 5K. It was a well organized event and it was a fun atmosphere running around the west end of runway 09 with airplanes taking off and landing the whole time.
