Brief Description: L-39 Flight with my friend Mike
I am fortunate to have a friend that owns and flys an L-39 Albatros. It is a Cech designed and built advanced jet trainer. Google it to get the exact facts, but it is the airplane the Russians and other Eastern block countries have used to train their fighter pilots. Many are still in service with air forces around the world and are even fitted with wing hard points to carry light bombs and missles for ground attack.
Mike purchased his about four years ago and had several hurdles to jump to get the necessary training and documents to fly it solo. He completed all of that a year or so ago and the timing worked out where I was able to go on a flight with him.
We did three touch and go landings and then flew around the area for a while. It was a great flight and an experience I won't forget. It was as fun as it looks.
