Brief Description: Finished riveting L elevator skin.
Today was a production day with the skin riveting being completed. I had to pull a bunch of clecoes out that I put in yesterday so I could put the silicone caulk globs in the trailing edge to tie the stiffeners together and prevent stress cracking the same as I did on the right elevator. Colten helped hold the elevator while I ran the caulk gun.
The skin riveting went well. I took a couple minutes before I quit for the day to pull out the remaining tail parts that will be used to make the trim tab. It looks simple enough, I guess I will find out why other builders have had trouble with it.
The two boxes the tail kit came are now empty except for the fiberglass end tips that will finish off and make the tail surfaces aerodynamic.
