Brief Description:  Back riveted rudder stiffeners to the skins.

This morning was pretty productive as I was able to back rivet all of the rudder stiffeners to the skins. This turned out very well and the back rivet plate from Rich worked well. The rudder, elevators, ailerons, and flaps will all use this back riveting process as I build the airplane. It is easy to do and the results are great.

It eliminates the need for a bucking bar as that is what the thick plate does. The rivets are placed in the dimpes and they are taped in place with what else, rivet tape. The skin is then turned over and the stiffeners set in place. You then simply use a special back rivet set with a spring loaded guide to keep you on the rivet shank and give it a shot with the gun for about three seconds at 35 PSI. Works great and makes you look like a pro, but I know better.
