Brief Description: Fabricated table for the DRDT-2 Dimpler
This mornings project was building a table for the DRDT-2 "Big D" dimpler. My table saw wouldn't fit very well in the storage shed and I wanted to have easy access to it as it is pretty handy for projects around the house from time to time. I found that Big D fit on it very well and was stable with only a C-clamp holding it to the table. I then adjusted the sliding table pieces to align with the dimensions of the table plans as supplied by Experimental Aero, the maker of Big D. It looked like it would work well so I went ahead and made the table per the plans.
I can remove the bar clamp and slide the table forward or back depending on the size of the piece to be dimpled. It is a few inches higher than ideal, but it should work well and makes good use of the table saw and the space it takes up. I can remove the bar and C-clamps and have it converted back to a table saw in less than a couple minutes.
All I have left to do is cover the new table with a thick carpet which will protect the skins from scratches. This job took some time, but will make a good work station in the future.
