I bought a vertical band saw at Menard's the other day and picked up a stand for it at Harbor Freight today. The saw was on sale for $109 so it wasn't real expensive and should do the job for cutting aluminum. My other band saw can now be used strictly for horizontal cuts. It used to take a few minutes to change it from vertical to horizontal, so having dedicated vertical and horizontal machines will be nice.
The stand was only $19 at HF and fits the band saw good. The holes didn't line up though so I made a couple wood mounting bases as adapters so it would fit.
I also bought a 6" chop saw for $34. I had been wanting to pick one of these up for a while but they were always out of stock. This will be handy for making quick and clean cuts on angle, tube, or flat stock.
