Tanner started taking flying lessons at JA Air Center in Aurora today. We rented a Cessna 172 so I could ride along in back during his flight. He started out with a half hour in the simulator, then Aaron his instructor took us on an introductory flight around Dekalb and back to Aurora. Tanner was pretty excited about it all and thought the experience was pretty cool.
During his lessons Tanner will normally fly a Cessna C162 Skycatcher. It is a newer design with modern Garmin glass avionics. Hopefully, this experience will be a good motivator for him to apply himself more at school.
