Brief Description: Landing Gear Axle Alignment - Part 1
After what could only be classified as an "aggravating" three and a half days of mounting the landing gear, I am ever so happy to report that the final alignment of the axles is about as straight as I could have possibly hoped for. Perfect, as a matter of fact. I taped a super straight piece of aluminium angle to the front of the axle mounts and measured the toe-in/toe-out using the aluminium piece as a reference. This simulates the "taught-string" with two 1/2" spacer approach detailed in the plans. As you can see from the pictures, the axles appear to be *perfectly* aligned.
This would also attest to the design of my aluminium-angle-ski-with-a-square-piece-of-particle-board approach to initial gear alignment as well!
