Brief Description:  Engine Compartment Reassembly - Part 02

Finally, all the new under-the-cowling electronics got a completely new wiring installation followed up by my usual sweet spiral wrap treatment. The wires by the cylinders have special Teflon spiral wrap that should have no trouble withstanding the temperatures in that area.

The last bit of hassle involved installing all of the new controls to the engine including the Throttle, Prop, Mixture, and Carb heat. I had to fabricated some new brackets for a couple of these as the ends of the new cables didn't quite match the old ones. After a fair amount of tinkering around, I'm very happy to report that all of the controls work VERY nicely and are exceptionally smooth and accurate. The extra time tweaking was definitely worth it.

So, all-in-all, the engine installation looks amazing now. It kind of makes me sad to have to put the cowling and not be able to admire how much nicer it looks now. But, the piece of mind of having a significantly more reliable ignition system, all new electronic measuring devices, and all new wiring makes it all worth it.
